We will be installing new overhead signs on SR 99 between S Lander St and S Spokane St in the southbound direction. There will be no traffic impacts as the lane is currently closed, however you will see crews in the area as early as 6 AM Saturday. The work is anticipated to end as soon as 4 PM.  

On 9th Ave SW & SW Portland St and 16th Ave SW & SW Holly St, our crews will be constructing speed humps on Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 3 PM. With all planned construction, please be cautious as you navigate the area. 

We will also be demolishing and pouring new building curb ramps on SW 28th St and SW Thistle St. This work will occur on both Saturday and Sunday as soon as 6 AM and will be completed at 5 PM. 

We are anticipating weather impacts this weekend and you may see crews responding to various emerging issues. There may be some unexpected repair work, please monitor traffic conditions, incidents, and road closures before you leave home.  

This month, construction crews return to the West Seattle High-Rise Bridge to start the final phase of repairs and get us closer to re-opening the bridge to traffic in mid-2022. Kraemer North America will perform the repair work inside and outside of the bridge, building on stabilization work completed last year.  

We’ll begin mobilizing equipment into place on the high bridge as soon as next week. When crews return, they’ll first begin preparing the bridge to install the work platforms that will enable crews to access the underside of the bridge. This work includes hydro-blasting to create holes in the bridge at key locations to attach the work platforms, which will be constructed off-site and lifted into place starting in December.
