City Seeks New Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commissioner

Volunteer to help guide the future of Redmond’s parks, trails, and recreation

REDMOND, WA - The City of Redmond is recruiting applicants to fill one mid-term vacancy on the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission. Community members residing within the 98052 zip code who have an interest in Redmond parks and recreational programs are encouraged to apply. This mid-term position is a one-year term, with the opportunity to renew for a second three-year term.

Commissioners learn about local government, provide feedback on public policies and programs, and have opportunities to participate in other city events and engage with community members. The City values commissioners who can connect with a broad spectrum of parks, community centers, and trail users, as well as those who will represent community members’ interests at meetings with City Council and the commission.

The City is committed to having a commission that reflects the diversity of the community and welcomes applications from any resident interested in the future of Redmond parks, recreation, and trails, including those who may have applied for past vacancies.

Commissioners must attend the monthly commission meetings held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. Meetings are hybrid, with an in-person option preferred at Redmond City Hall.

To apply, visit redmond.gov/Commissions. Interested community members are encouraged to apply by 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, for the mid-term commission seat. For questions about the commission, contact Parks Planning Manager Lindsey Falkenburg at lfalkenburg@redmond.gov.
