Apply for Redmond's Derby Days Do-Gooder Scholarship
REDMOND, WA - The 2024 Derby Do-Gooder Scholarship is now open for applications. Presented by WM and currently in its ninth year, the Derby Do-Gooder Scholarship will award $1,500 to a high school senior in Redmond who has shown an extraordinary commitment to community service. In addition to the scholarship funds, the recipient will be honored with an appearance in the Derby Days Grand Parade on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
“I am proud of how active and engaged the young people of Redmond are in their communities,” said Mayor Angela Birney. “This scholarship is an opportunity to shine a light on the impactful and inspirational work being done by our youth.”
Volunteerism and community service are at the heart of the Derby Days event, and the Do-Gooder scholarship is just one way that it is celebrated. Additionally, the event relies on volunteers to assist with the drone light show, cornhole tournament, event set-up and tear-down, event information booths, questionnaires, and more.
The Derby Do-Gooder Scholarship application is available at redmond.gov/DerbyDays. The scholarship application deadline is 9 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Volunteer opportunities for Derby Days are available at redmond.gov/DerbyDays.
