Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond has two openings on the Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee (LTAC). The City is looking for candidates interested in
tourism-related activities in the City of Redmond to fill a four-year term. To
meet the requirements of Washington State RCW 67.28.1817, one vacancy shall be
filled by a representative of a business required to collect lodging tax, such
as an hotelier, and one vacancy shall be filled by a person who is involved in
activities authorized to be funded by lodging tax revenue.
The LTAC’s role is to advise the Mayor and Council on options to
enhance tourism activities in Redmond, making recommendations on special events
matching grants to the City Council and later reviewing the success of those
completed events, reviewing proposals from the marketing consultant, and
proposing changes to the Tourism Promotion Program.
The seven-member volunteer committee currently meets quarterly, or as
needed, at Redmond City Hall. Interested applicants must complete a community
service application. The deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. on December 5,
2017.
