Additional caution is advised for Interurban Trail users!
- Pedestrians, cyclists, and others using the Interurban Trail are asked to watch for flaggers and to practice additional caution when passing along Alderwood Mall Blvd. This are is where construction team members and equipment enter the work site.
Week Ending June 12th:
- Site preparation ramped up this week, a crane and drill (pictured above) have been brought onto site on the 196th St SW side of the project.
- Crews are preparing the beams that will support the Interurban Trail tunnel that will be constructed under the new Poplar Way Extension Bridge, on the Alderwood Mall Blvd site.
- June is the last month of Phase I of the project, there are six phases in total.
- A new traffic configuration will be implemented in Phase II. We anticipate the new configuration to provide congestion relief. There will be congestion during the full duration of the project and we will advise to use alternate routes when possible.
In observation of Juneteenth, Friday, June 19th will be a non working day.
