The Development and Business Services Department is responsible for Lynnwood's long-range planning, development review and approvals, environmental reviews, permitting of land use and building projects, business licenses, code enforcement, City Center and light rail coordination, tourism promotion and assisting in the orderly growth and development of the City.   

This move included renovations to the City Hall lobby and interior office spaces. This project was completed in-house by City staff.  

“Thanks to the ingenuity of our employees, this move will ultimately save the City $1 million in rent over the next four years,” said Mayor George Hurst. “Our City continues to strive for efficiency while still providing vital services to our community.” 

For DBS Director Ben Wolters, bringing these services back to City Hall not only benefits the department’s employees, it also provides a continuity of service for our community members. 

“Providing excellent customer service for our community members has always been a top priority for the City of Lynnwood,” said Wolters. “Moving our services to a central location improves ease of access, mitigating the need for multiple trips while working with our City.”
