Prepare before you go
Help us prevent litter around Kitsap by bagging your StyrofoamTM and securing your load before heading to the Fairgrounds. If possible, transport your StyrofoamTM in an enclosed space, such as your backseat or trunk. If transporting your StyrofoamTM in a truck bed, make sure to strap down your bagged StyrofoamTM with a cargo net or tarp—it’s the law!
What happens to collected StyrofoamTM?
DTG Recycle will densify collected StyrofoamTM into blocks that are sold into global recycling markets. The material most often becomes picture frames.

Get involved, volunteer with us!
We need your help in making this event a success! We're seeking 25 volunteers to help on the day of the event, Saturday, April 19, 2025. Volunteers will help greet, direct, and assist community members with unloading their StyrofoamTM.
We're also looking for six volunteers to help with loading collected StyrofoamTM into our vendor's trucks on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Expanded polystyrene (EPS) ban laws
Some StyrofoamTM, formally expanded polystyrene (EPS), items are banned for sale and distribution in Washington as of 2023 and 2024. Items that are banned include packing peanuts, portable coolers, and food service products like plates, bowls, clam shells, trays, and cups. We'll accept these items for recycling at the event. Learn more about the ban on Ecology's expanded polystyrene (EPS) ban webpage.
