Project Update: Olympic View Transfer Station Closure

Postpone "dump runs" if you can. Silverdale and Olalla facilities are busier than normal.

Olympic View, the garbage and recycling facility near the Bremerton airport, is closed until Feb. 5 for floor repairs. The recycling area is also closed. Employees are stationed at the gate and are turning away customers who have not heard about the closure.

We're urging you-- please postpone "dump runs" until the end of this closure. Don't bring garbage or recycling to other facilities unless you really cannot wait. If you can't wait, here are alternative facilities by location and customer type:

Business customers - any location

Households from Mason County

Use the disposal facilities in Belfair or Shelton. Check hours, accepted items, and rates before going.
Households from Pierce County

Use the disposal facilities in Purdy or Tacoma. Check hours, accepted items, and rates before going.

Curbside customers with items that won't fit in your carts

You can leave out extra trash to be picked up on collection day (store it in a can protected from wind and animals).
Households from Kitsap County

You can use the Purdy or Belfair facilities for household waste, but please look up the rates, accepted items, and hours before visiting. Tell them the waste came from Kitsap County so they can keep track.

What to expect at the Silverdale, Olalla, and Hansville facilities:

These facilities are open on their regular schedules but are busier than normal, particularly on weekends with nice weather.
