Road Closure: Sahalee Way NE between NE 50th Street and NE 37th Way

6/28 to 7/2 – Sammamish area

Crews will close both directions of Sahalee Way NE between NE 50th Street and NE 37th Way around the clock starting Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 6 a.m., through Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. All travelers, bus routes, and emergency response vehicles will follow a posted detour via 228th Ave NE, NE 8th St, and 244th Ave NE. Please plan for up to 20 extra minutes of travel time.

This closure is necessary to replace and repair two failing drainage pipes under the road.

Construction will begin on Saturday, June 28, but the community may see crews mobilizing equipment and trucks near the construction area as early as Monday, June 23.

King County Metro has also prepared temporary stops nearby during the closure. Please refer to the map below for details.

We understand that closing Sahalee Way NE is a significant impact to the community. We are doing everything we can to keep the closure as short as possible, this includes working over the weekend. If we don’t do this work now, and a pipe collapses, the emergency repair could cause the road to be closed for up to a year.
