Upcoming construction on SW 104th St between 15th Ave SW and 17th Ave SW

3/3 to 4/18 – White Center Area

Thank you for your interest in King County Road Services projects in White Center.

King County Road Services will replace a worn-out drainage pipe located under the north side of SW 104th St (between 15th Ave SW and 17th Ave SW) from Monday, March 3, through Friday, April 18, with crews working from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Crews may work on the weekend. This work needs to happen before the Pedestrian Safety Improvements & Traffic Calming Project on 16th Avenue SW this summer.

To help keep traffic moving, the repairs will occur in three phases. The first phase of work will begin with lane restrictions on SW 104th St between 15th Ave SW & 16th Ave SW, and parking on the north side of the road will be restricted.

Here is what to expect during construction:

Phase 1: No Parking on the north side of SW 104th St between 15th Ave SW and 16th Ave SW Lane restrictions (planned dates: March 3, 2025 – March 11, 2025) Local access OK. Access to businesses and homes open. No Parking on north side of road. Construction equipment parked in the parking lane for up to 6 weeks in the public right of way.

Phase 2: Intersection closed on 16th Ave SW at SW 104th The north side of 16th Ave SW at SW 104th St is closed 24/7 in both directions. (planned dates: March 11, 2025 – April 1, 2025) Through-traffic will detour onto 15th Ave SW. Access to businesses and homes open. Local access OK on SW 104th Street between 17th Ave SW and 15th Ave SW. No vehicles can park on the north side of SW 104th St between 16th Ave SW and 15th Ave SW. This area in the public right of way is reserved for construction equipment.

Phase 3: Limited Parking on SW 104th St (between 16th Ave SW and 17th Ave SW) Lane restrictions (planned dates: March 26, 2025 – April 18, 2025) Local access OK. Access to businesses and homes open. No Parking on north side of road between 15th Ave SW and 17th Ave SW. Road work and construction equipment parked in the parking lane in the public right of way.
