The Health Care Authority (HCA) is sending this message on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH).
The Washington Association for Community Health, Washington AIDS Education and Training Center, and Washington State Department of Health are partnering to offer a monthly webinar series that will help health care providers leverage the whole care team to address patients’ sexual health.
Learning objectives
- Review recommendations for providers to inform all sexually active adults and adolescents about PrEP.
- Review recommendations for providers to prescribe PrEP to anyone who requests it.
- Review guidelines for how to prescribe and monitor oral and injectable PrEP.

Dr. Joanne Stekler is an infectious disease physician-scientist. Her research centers on HIV testing and HIV prevention. She is a national expert on HIV tests, particularly focused on acute HIV infection and point-of-care testing. She started the first community-based clinic for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in Seattle and is currently working to increase access to PrEP, reduce HIV-related disparities, and support PrEP adherence across Washington State. She is also Director of the UW/Fred Hutch Center for AIDS Research eHealth Scientific Working Group.
