We're moving! to our temporary location
Services relocating to 115 W. Main St. during renovation
Thanks to incredible community generosity, the Walla Walla Public Library is closer than ever to becoming the vibrant, reimagined space our community deserves. We are preparing to move to a temporary location and break ground on a major renovation in June 2026, with construction expected to last approximately one year. The final day of library service in the current building will be Saturday, May 30, 2026.
In-person library services will resume the week of June 8, 2026 at the library's temporary location at 115 W. Main Street, at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Main Street across from the Farmers Market shelter and Valley Transit Center. Patrons can access all library resources and services at the Main Street location, with library hours remaining 10:00 am-7:00 pm Monday-Friday and 10:00 am-3:00 pm Saturdays. The library can also be reached at (509) 527-4550 during open hours, or anytime at wwpl@wallawallawa.gov. The library's website at wallawallapubliclibrary.org will continue to serve patrons wherever they are, along with the library Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WWPL99362. Patrons are invited to take advantage of digital materials and resources available on the library website and through the Libby app, The Palace Project app, and Kanopy, including eBooks, digital audiobooks, digital magazines, and free streaming content. Staff will strive to minimize disruptions to service, and thank the public in advance for your patience during the transition.

- While we have made tremendous strides, there is still important work ahead—and continued community support will be key to carrying this project across the finish line. To learn more and get involved, please visit The Next Chapter at www.wwplfund.org.
To celebrate the start of this next chapter for the Walla Walla Public Library, the entire community is invited to say "See you later!" to the current building at a send-off party on Saturday June 6, 2026, from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Along with enjoying fun activities and treats, attendees who have contributed to the campaign—or who make a donation at the event—are invited to “Make Your Mark” on the current building. Donors may sign their names or leave messages on the library walls in recognition of their support of The Next Chapter Library Capital Campaign. These names and messages will remain on the walls as they are covered with insulation during construction.
Surplus library furniture and fixtures will also be for sale during the party. All purchased items must be removed from the premises at time of sale or no later than 3:00 pm, June 6, 2026.
