Fiesta del Sol is back at the McLean Community Center. Hear the sounds of Latin American and Caribbean music with renowned live bands, see artisan exhibitors and enjoy a variety of food and drinks. Learn a variety of Latin dances from professional instructors throughout the evening. Admission is free.

Menstrual Product Drive

Our Library, Board of Supervisors offices and community partners are collecting menstruation supplies. Support shelters and nonprofits by dropping off new and sealed packages of tampons, sanitary pads, liners and menstrual cups to any library branch through March 31.

Learn ways to improve your finances and reduce stress in this bilingual financial class at Sherwood Regional Library in Alexandria. We'll cover the fundamentals of budgeting, understanding income and expenses, setting financial goals, improving credit and developing smart saving habits.

Virtual Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education Training (10 - 11 a.m.)
Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose, how to administer naloxone and how to fully respond to an opioid overdose emergency in this virtual class.
Family Fun Fridays (noon - 5 p.m.)
Spend your Friday exploring the Riverbend Nature Center in Great Falls. Family Fun Fridays offer relaxed, self-guided play that encourages curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning. Registration is $5.
Create a Paper Microscope (2 - 3:30 p.m.)
Assemble your very own foldscope, a portable paper microscope, at the George Mason Regional Library in Annandale. We'll learn about how microscopes work, what they're used for and what you can examine at home and in nature with your foldscope.
The Chess Group (4:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Learn to play chess and practice your skills at Dolley Madison Library in McLean. This group is for beginner and intermediate players.

Teen Job Fair (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Teens, attend our Teen Job Fair and Career-Building Workshops at West Springfield High School. There will be a variety of employment opportunities including full time, after-school, seasonal positions, internship opportunities and volunteer positions.

E-Waste Recycling Event (8 a.m. - noon)
Recycle old electronics, dead batteries, toner/ink cartridges, power cords and more at Great Falls Elementary School. We'll have a truck at the back of the school and will provide information on best practices for recyclers.
Tales of Our Trails (10 a.m. - noon)
In celebration of the Fairfax County 250th anniversary commission, hike the Potomac Heritage Trail and engage in activities such as archery and exploration to learn about the cultural history of Riverbend Park in Great Falls. Registration is $14.
Own Your Space: Self-Defense for Confidence and Safety (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
In this series, learn how to spot red flags, use your voice and body to stay safe, and practice self-defense moves in a supportive and upbeat setting at Kings Park Library in Burke. This program is for teens ages 12-18.
Foley Academy of Irish Dance Performance (11 a.m. - noon)
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a performance by this talented group of young dancers at George Mason Regional Library in Annandale. The academy will perform classic and modern dance routines.
Capital Harmonia: Women's Choir Presentation (2 - 3 p.m.)
Celebrate Women's History Month by listening to and learning about American female composers at Martha Washington Library in Alexandria. Join Capital Harmonia for a performance that will feature music composed and arranged by women.
Trainers on the Go (2:30 - 4 p.m.)
Take a guided Pokémon Go hike at Riverbend Park in Great Falls. Learn about nature while playing Pokémon Go with your family or friends. Registration is $12.
Franconia Skate and Dance Night: St. Patrick's Day (6 - 9 p.m.)
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with skating and dancing at the Franconia Rec Center. Remember to bring your own skates. Registration is $10.

Paper Quilling Bunny Frame (2 - 5 p.m.)
Paper quilling, also known as filigree, is the art of coiling strips of paper rolls and then shaping them into works of art. Create bunnies or rabbits and frame them in a shadow box at the Providence Rec Center in Falls Church. Registration is $44.

Quilting for Absolute Beginners (10 a.m. - noon)
Have you ever wanted to learn how to quilt? Join us at Pohick Regional Library in Burke to learn basic terms and techniques with simple projects. Participants must know how to operate a sewing machine.
Wellness and Sensory Zone (noon - 2 p.m.)
Visit Centreville Regional Library's wellness and sensory zone to relax, connect and recharge. Enjoy relaxing activities including puzzles, crafts, wellness books, soothing music and visits from a therapy dog.
Tween Craft - Felt Rosebuds (2 - 3 p.m.)
Nothing signifies spring like flowers. Join us at the City of Fairfax Regional Library to make rosebuds out of felt. For children and teens ages 10 to 16.
Let's Get Physical with AAUW (2:15 - 4 p.m.)
Explore how you can adopt healthy habits by practicing self kindness at Sherwood Regional Library in Alexandria. We'll discuss how positive thinking can help with aging, a mindset that has been shown to increase lifespans by an average of seven years.

Baskets and Bunnies - Egg Hunt
