Farmers Markets

Shop from a variety of fresh produce, flowers, locally made goods and more at our farmers markets. Drop-off your food scraps to any of our markets. SNAP is accepted at the Reston and Lorton Farmers Markets.

Dairy Days - Ice Cream Making & Butter (11 a.m. and 1 p.m.)
Churn butter, crank ice cream, milk a fake cow, play 18th century games and experience the products of an historic dairy at the Sully Historic Site.

Brain Gym (2 - 3 p.m.)
Improve your brain health with fun exercises like sudoku, word puzzles, memorization games and more at the George Mason Regional Library.
Adventure Movie Matinee (3 - 5 p.m.)
Bring the whole family to watch Up and enjoy light refreshments in our meeting room at the Sherwood Regional Library.
Vietnamese Conversation Group (4 - 5 p.m.)
Practice your Vietnamese conversation skills with beginner and experienced Vietnamese speakers at the Chantilly Regional Library.
Fab Fridays Summerbration: Taylor Swift Tribute Band (7 - 8:30 p.m.)
Come dressed as your favorite Era, swap friendship bracelets and join the Swiftie dance party at Reston Station.

Red, White and Blue Tournament (8 a.m.)
Teams of two players compete in an 18-hole scramble format, using alternating red, white and blue tees at the Burke Lake Golf Center. There will be prizes for first, second and third place teams and those closest to the pin. We will also award the best dressed team.

Farm Skills – Dairy (3:45 - 4:45 p.m.)
Learn about dairy cows on one of Fairfax County's last working dairy farms at Frying Pan Farm Park. See cows get milked, feed cows, explore the history of dairy farming and learn what it takes to turn milk into your favorite dairy products.
First Saturday Book Sale (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Shop from a wide variety of gently used books and media for all ages at the Sherwood Regional Library. Purchases support library programs for all ages.
Time Travel Club at Herndon Library (1 - 2 p.m.)
Travel back in time with us and learn about ancient civilizations through trivia and hands-on activities at the Herndon Fortnightly Library.
Teen Book was Better than the Movie Club (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Watch "The Maze Runner" with us at the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library, and enjoy some popcorn. All teens are welcome whether you have read the book or not.

Ready, Set, Play! (2:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
It's time for recess at the Centreville Regional Library. Enjoy a variety of interactive games and activities, including some of your favorite playground and classroom games, board games and STEM activities.

Stream Life (10 - 11 a.m.)
Explore the streams at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park with a naturalist. Use dip nets and kick nets to catch and release stoneflies, hellgrammites, water pennies and crayfish.
Water Critters (10 - 11 a.m.)
Explore life below the surface at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center with a visit to our creek and pond. Meet a live turtle and toad. Make sure to wear close-toed shoes that can get wet.
Jigsaw Puzzle and Game Swap (3:15 - 3:45 p.m.)
Tired of the same old games and puzzles? Swap out your gently-used jigsaw puzzles and board games with other enthusiasts at the Chantilly Regional Library. Please make sure items are in good condition and complete.

4-H Fair and Carnival

Celebrate Fairfax County's agricultural traditions and enjoy some old-fashioned fun at our 4-H Fair and Carnival at Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon. Enjoy carnival games and rides, live entertainment, food, farm animals and more.
