Check out these highlights from our Independence Day celebration. The weather was perfect! The parade was lively and entertaining, and people danced to the high-energy music of '70s Flashback until a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky.

Summer Concert Series Features City Band Ensembles

The City of Fairfax Band Association is scheduled to perform free concerts on Thursday evenings at Veterans Amphitheater. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Asian Festival on Main, July 25

This one-day, outdoor, family event will celebrate Asian heritage through food, arts and crafts, and lively performances. Main Street will be lined with vendors and art and educational exhibits.

Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center Exhibition

Agents of Change: Female Activism in Virginia from Women’s Suffrage to Today, a traveling exhibition from from the Virginia Museum of History & Culture explores the legacy of women’s suffrage in Virginia from 1920 to 2020 through a diverse selection of women who worked to change their communities, the Commonwealth, and the country. Their stories underscore the importance of civic engagement in a democracy, as well as the power of individuals to create a better world. View the exhibition through July 17 at the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center.

22nd Annual Labor Day Car Show (:30 video)

When you attend the 22^nd Annual Labor Day Car Show on September 6, every dollar you spend will be donated to local charities. Admission is free for the car show, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on University Drive, in front of Fire Station 3. The car show is sponsored by the Clifton Lions Club, Capital Ale House, and the City of Fairfax.
