Increase to VDSS Office of Background Investigations (OBI) and Fingerprint Fees
|
This memo is to alert child day programs and family day systems of recently announced increases to the OBI fees for central registry and portability in addition to an increase in fees for fingerprints. Effective January 1, 2026, the processing fees for central registry search requests and portability requests will increase by $2.00, and criminal fingerprint background requests will increase by $5.00. Please refer to the memo below from Virginia Department of Social Services, Office of Background Investigations (OBI).
Information related to background check requirements, including instructions for completing background checks, can be found on the background checks webpage on the Virginia Department of Education's Child Care VA website.
