The story of Arlington's Fire Station 8 occupies a special place in American history. For decades, the Hall's Hill fire station has been at the forefront of battles over segregation and gender equality. For the crews working there, the job was always the same: serve the people of Arlington.
Weekend Party Plans
Rain or shine, Arlington Palooza kicks off on Saturday, May 17. The free festival features something for everyone, including live music, dance lessons, and animal encounters.

Summer is Waiting
Registration is now open for the Summer 2025 Enjoy Arlington catalog. From gymnastics and swim classes to nature programs and creative workshops, the catalog is packed with exciting options for all ages.
For in-person registration, you can stop by Lubber Run Community Center starting Fri., May 16 at 8 a.m.
New and Improved
Starting on June 29, WMATA will be implementing their Better Bus Network Redesign to consolidate bus stops and rename bus routes throughout the region. All Metrobus routes will go by new names. You can use the complete Virginia Metrobus Route List to cross reference your current routes with the new routes.
