How You Can Help

• If you believe you have information related to the recovery efforts in the Potomac or Anacostia Rivers or on the shore, immediately call 911. Do not touch or remove the item(s). Following this guidance is critical to supporting the impacted families & investigation.
  
  
• Dangerfield Island and Gravelly Point, and the adjacent Mount Vernon Trail, are closed for response efforts at the Potomac River – Please continue to avoid these areas and follow police direction.
  
  
• Members of the public looking to donate can do so through The Greater Washington Community Foundation relief fund.

Crisis Resources This has been an incredibly difficult week. Please know you always have Someone to Call, Someone to Respond, and Somewhere to Go.  For families who may be concerned about how to talk with children regarding these events, visit APS for resources that may be helpful.

• Find engagement opportunities on development applications and transportation projects on the County website.

• Applications are now open for a free, in-person, training course to become an Arlington Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer.
   
  
• Save the date. Early Registration for 2025 Summer Camps in Arlington County starts next week on Feb. 3. 
  
  
• The Department of Human Services is hosting its first Free Walk-In STI Testing Day on Feb. 4 at Sequoia Plaza. No insurance or appointment required.
