Election Day is Almost Here

The Presidential Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. Early Voting is open until Saturday, Nov. 2, at four locations.

On Election Day, all Arlington polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. You must vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day.

*Be sure to confirm your polling place location as it may have changed.

Kick Leaves to the Curb

Arlington's leaf collection service is starting. Find out when vacuum trucks will be in your neighborhood and how to prepare your leaves for pickup.

Tis the Season ... to Get a Job

The holiday shopping season is around the corner. A list of seasonal job openings for teens is one of the many resources available on the County's new Arlingteens page. 

You can find it under "Employment Opportunities." 

• Time is running out to weigh in on planned enhancements to green spaces at Jennie Dean Park. The current feedback period ends Nov. 1. 
  
  
• The County wants to hear from the public about the Metro Market Square project, a planned one-acre park in Crystal City. 
  
  
• The application portal for the RACE to Rebuilding Trust and Community Grants is live! Nonprofits are encouraged to apply.
  
  
• The County is considering changes to the towing ordinance. Take 5 minutes and fill out a questionnaire and tell the Board about your experiences. 
  
  
• Extended to Nov. 4! Provide feedback on a proposed development in Aurora Highlands that would combine 100% affordable housing with services for persons with disabilities.

• Arlington County’s four public safety agencies are hosting a donation drive to benefit communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. 

• No school, no problem. Adventure awaits local kids this winter at Arlington’s Break Camps. Register and reserve your spot.

• A new Digital Equity Initiative is working to equip all County residents with affordable broadband access, devices, and technology skills. 
  
  
• Don’t miss this month’s Author Talk with Dr. Anton Treuer on Nov. 4, with options to attend in person or online.
  
  
• Did you know Arlington residents can access free monthly paper shredding? The next event will be held on Nov. 2.
  
  
• If you know any artists looking for space to show off their skills, several organizations and events have artist opportunities available. 
  
  
• This Halloween, you're invited to a monster mash for all ages. Check out the Halloween Bash Columbia Pike on Oct. 31. 

Clash of the Turntable Titans

It's a Teen Takeover event for music lovers. Some of the best teen DJs around are set to battle at Arlington Mill Community Center. When the music stops, the crowd will decide who takes the top spot.
