COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES SOLICIT COMMENTS ON MOTION FOR PARTIAL DISTRIBUTION

The Copyright Royalty Judges are soliciting comments on a motion for partial distribution of 2011 royalties from the Digital Audio Recording Technology (DART) Sound Recordings Fund. The Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies (AARC) filed the motion on behalf of itself and claimants with whom it has reached settlements. Under section 801(b)(3)(C) of the Copyright Act, AARC requests a 98 percent distribution from each of two subfunds: the Featured Recording Artists Subfund and the Copyright Owners Subfund. The judges seek comments from interested claimants on whether any reasonable objections exist that would preclude the proposed distribution. Comments are due no later than September 6, 2012.
