Transition to Blackboard
The DC3 Cyber Training Academy has transitioned to a new learning management system (LMS), Blackboard. Users will experience changes to log-in procedures as we continue a systematic transfer of all users and new courses. Communications related to courses students are enrolled in will be sent via email so please be sure to monitor your inbox and junk mail for directions on how to navigate the new system. If students encounter any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact our Help/Support Desk at 443-773-1910 or help@dcita.edu.
NEW CyberCast
IPv4 Subnets and IPv6 Explained
This CyberCast will introduce students to the basic principles of IPv4 addressing, subnets, and IPv6 addressing. It will also cover basic binary, hexadecimal, and binary conversions. In the section on IPv4 addressing, students will learn about CIDR notation and how it translates to a subnet mask and vice versa, how to determine which range of network addresses a specific IPv4 address belongs to, and IPv4 subnets and subnetting. In the section on IPv6 addressing, students will learn how to interpret IPv6 addresses, how to shorten IPv6 addresses, and how to lengthen them when the abbreviated form is presented.
