U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is encouraging all CBP bonded carriers and facilities to utilize the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), to strengthen compliance, visibility, and risk management.
Key ACE benefits:
- ACE is a free system.
- Respond electronically to CBP and partner government agency requests for information.
- Provides access to real-time movement of international shipments and entry information, to include:
- When cargo is released.
- When CBP cargo holds are placed.
- When CBP exams are conducted.
- Status on entries.
ACE provides the trade community visibility of freight movements, the opportunity to proactively manage operations and mitigate potential CBP enforcement actions. Trade entities are encouraged to utilize targeted reports to conduct in-house audits, identify systemic errors and provide insight into transactions under CBP review.
ACE provides the trade community the ability to:
- Identify unauthorized filers.
- Monitor entry, entry summary, protest and export filing transactions by filing.
- Monitor in-bond movements.
To establish an ACE account, please fill out an application at: https://CBP.gov/ACE.
Should there be any questions concerning this pipeline, please contact Cargo Chief Javier Duarte at (312) 523-1638.
