CSMS # 61848201 - FDA Outages Up To 3 Hours Sunday Morning August 25, 2024
Due to a planned key database migration to the cloud and scheduled maintenance, a few FDA Import Applications will be down for maintenance.
The interface between FDA and CBP will be unavailable for up to 90-minutes on August 25, 2024, between 2:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. ET.
When the cloud migration is complete, Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI) application will be down for up to 1 additional hour for scheduled maintenance.
The exact time of the outages cannot be known due to variability in the speed of the data migration process. The outage windows will begin when the migration of data is complete.
During the initial potential 90-minute outage:
- FDA will not process any ACE inbound entries or outbound messages.
- Status messages generated during this window will be queued and sent to CBP when the interface is restored.
- Do not resubmit entries as this will increase the processing time to catch up when the interface is restored.
- Prior Notice impact during this time:
- Prior Notices can be submitted via both the Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI) as well as the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) / Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), but will not be processed by FDA.
- There may be a delay in review of Prior Notices. This delay may lead to Prior Notices being reviewed beyond expected timeframes (Truck/Land: 2 hours, Rail/Air: 4 hours, Sea: 8 hours). Please file your Prior Notices early to mitigate the impact of the delay.
- For additional details, see Prior Notice Contingency Scenario 1
During the additional up to 1 hour outage:
- PNSI will be down.
- FDA will be processing ACE inbound entries and outbound messages.
