CSMS # 53781960 - TTB PGA Data - Alcohol Importer Permit Validations
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s (TTB’s) PGA Message Set requires importers to submit a valid TTB permit number at time of cargo release filing for all non-exempt alcohol importations into the United States. Specifically, when PG14 LPCO Type = “TZ3,” importers are required to submit a permit number in the LPCO Number field unless there is an exemption from the permit requirement. Starting on 10/29/2022, alcohol importers will now receive a warning if the submitted TTB Alcohol Importer permit is not valid at the time of entry. This warning is intended to assist the importers in providing more accurate information in the PGA Message Set.
In addition, importers may submit only one TZ3 record per entry line.
As a reminder, the ACE filing instructions for TTB-Regulated Commodities can be found here: ACE Filing Instructions for TTB-Regulated Commodities | U.S. Customs and Border Protection (cbp.gov).
