Please be advised that a new chapter of the CATAIR has been posted to CBP.gov. The new chapter is called the “Certificate Query” and supports the Electronic Certification System (eCert) 2.0 functionality which is scheduled to deploy to the Production (PROD) environment on September 24, 2022.
eCert is an electronic government-to-government system for transmitting a certificate, like an export license/certificate or a certificate of eligibility, used for importation into the U.S. for specific commodities as a requirement to qualify for in-quota or tariff preference rates of duty. eCert 2.0 will provide ACE ABI filers the capability to query Certificates/Licenses or Visas that have been filed in eCERT to obtain current status, quantity information, and entry summary usage details. The new input and output messages will be “EC” and “EZ”.
The updated CATAIR is posted under the “Draft Chapters: Future Capabilities” section which can be found at https://www.cbp.gov/trade/ace/catair
Please reach out to your ABI Client Representative if you have any questions related to the newest chapter of the CATAIR.
