CSMS #45169649 - Government Closure on December 24, 2020

On December 11, 2020, President Trump signed an Executive Order providing for the Closing of Executive Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government on Thursday, December 24, 2020 as a federal holiday. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will operate as a holiday on December 24, 2020. Self-filers and brokers should plan CBP-related business accordingly.

Entry Filers: Entry Summaries already designated on statement for December 24, 2020 prior to the announcement of the holiday will still print on Thursday, December 24, 2020. For those entry summaries not yet on statement and will be, use statement print date of December 28, 2020.

For the statements created on December 24th, the trade can send a RM on the 24th or later. Statement Finals will transmit on Tuesday, December 29 morning due to the holiday. Filers can present or pay on Monday, December 28, 2020 without penalty.

After today, attempts to place a summary on statement 12/24/2020 will receive error code 204 (Prelim Stmt Date is Sat, Sun, or Hol).
