CSMS #42280794 - USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) Message set for the National Organics Program is in CERT now and will be in Production (with a warning severity) later in April

The USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) is adding a message set for the National Organics Program. The update to their Implementation Guide will be published soon.

The associated code is in CERT now and is expected in Production on April 25, 2020.

Please note: AMS has flagged the associated organics HTS codes with either AM7 or AM8. However, as with all of the USDA/AMS programs, the National Organics Program is NOT currently mandatory in ACE. Therefore, if trade does not provide the AMS data per the HTS flag on the day this code is in Production, the entry can be accepted and trade will receive a warning for the Organic data missing.

AMS is working on a notice of proposed rulemaking to require their data in ACE, but that is not expected for at least one year.
