CSMS #39946971 - Food and Drug Administration (FDA) End-dating and Adding Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) Product Codes

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be end-dating the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) Product Codes listed below because the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has asserted sole jurisdiction over ratites and squabs since 2001. These products do not need to be transmitted to FDA and do not require FDA admissibility decision.  The product codes will be end-dated in 30 days, on October 24, 2019.

End-dated Code/Description:

• 17B--07/ Emu
• 17B--08/Ostrich
• 17B--90/Emu, Chopped
• 17B--91/Emu, Ground
• 17B--11/Squab (pigeon)
• 15A--05/Eggs, Ostrich, In Shell

The FDA has added a new CFSAN product code listed below and is available immediately.

New Product Code/Description:

• 52D--38/ Fish, Human Consumption, Live Animals
