USDA’s Farm Service Agency Offers Organic Certification Cost-Share
Through the Organic Certification Cost Share Program (OCCSP), USDA’s Farm Service Agency covers up to 75% of organic certification costs at a maximum of $750 per certification category. Cost-share assistance provided by OCCSP is helping organic producers across the country maintain their organic certification. One of those producers is Ashley Rodgers, owner, and operator of a 16-acre USDA certified organic fruit and vegetable farm located in Douglas County Georgia.
Rodgers is passionate about growing organic. “If I’m going to grow something for someone to consume in their bodies then I want it to be the best, healthiest thing I can do for them,” Roders said. Selling her fruits and vegetables to local farmers markets and restaurants in the Atlanta area is part of her overall goal to raise community awareness about local, seasonal and organic food options.
Learn more about Rodgers and how she utilizes OCCSP to keep her organic farm growing strong.
