Policy Spotlight
Become Familiar with Covered Conditions
Eligible responders and survivors can receive medically necessary monitoring and treatment for certified WTC-related health conditions. These covered conditions fall into the following categories:
- Acute traumatic injuries
- Airway and digestive disorders
- Cancers
- Mental health conditions
- Musculoskeletal disorders
All conditions covered by the Program must be certified by the WTC Health Program and treated through a Program-affiliated provider. Certification is an official decision by the Program that confirms the member’s condition is related to their 9/11 exposure and meets Program certification policies and criteria.
To learn more about the conditions covered under each category, visit here. If you have a patient who may be eligible for the Program as a survivor or a responder, we encourage them to visit our website to learn how to apply.
Pharmacy Benefits in the Program
The WTC Health Program provides prescription coverage to members with certified WTC-related health conditions. Prescriptions for members are free of charge when prescribed by a Program-affiliated provider and must be for their WTC-related certified condition. With access to over 62,000 retail pharmacy locations nationwide and the option for home delivery, members have a wide range of options to fill their WTC-related prescriptions.
If your patient has questions regarding their pharmacy benefits, have them call Express Scripts at 1-800-935-7179.
