Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant

On 21 December 2021, the Government announced the introduction of grant support for hospitality and leisure businesses in England. The scheme provides support to hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses, in recognition that the rise of the Omicron variant means that some businesses have struggled over recent weeks.

The primary principle of the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme is to support businesses that offer in-person services, where the main service and activity takes place in a fixed rate-paying premises, in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors. Local Authorities will receive funding to be allocated in one-off grants to businesses. To date North Kesteven District Council has not yet received an allocation.

Grants are per hereditament (premises) and the amount paid is varied by rateable value (RV) of each eligible premises, in three bands: £0-15k; £15-51k; and over £51k

The Government has issued a list of eligible businesses within their guidance and we will only be accepting applications from businesses clearly defined on this published document.

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant will be offered through an application process, payments will not be made automatically as they have done with previous schemes.

We will be launching the application process on our website by end of play Monday 10 January 2022. Please do keep an eye on our website and social media channels for the very latest information.

The scheme will close for applications on 28 February 2022 and all final payments will be made to recipients by 31 March 2022.
