People in England are now required by law to self-isolate if they test positive for Covid or are contacted by NHS Test and Trace and told to self-isolate.
-
Legal duty to self-isolate came into force on Monday 28 September, to ensure compliance and reduce spread of COVID-19
- Support is now available for eligible people on low incomes who are unable to work while self-isolating through the £500 Test and Trace Support Payment
- Fines for those breaking the rules now in place start at £1,000 and increase up to £10,000 for repeat offenders
The need to self-isolate can cause financial pressures for those on low incomes and the self-employed. As a result of this the Government is providing a new Test and Trace Support Payment of a £500 lump sum for those working on low incomes and eligible to support them if they cannot work from home during their self-isolation period.
Applications for this grant are now live through the North Kesteven District Council website. There are a number of criteria that must be met in order to be eligible for the fund. For more information please see here.
