The Solar 101 Workshop is taking place on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30pm at the Fire Station 6 Community Room located at 1006 N 25th Street in Waco.
This workshop is to educate the general public about the advantages and pitfalls of getting rooftop solar on their house. We will explain details about the group purchasing program called "Switch Together" and will introduce a new grant program called "Solar for All” that will provide free installation of a solar system for income qualified homeowners.
Warmer weather means more outdoor fun. Unfortunately, mosquitos come out too! As we get into mosquito season, the elimination of potential mosquito breeding habitats is critical for the prevention of mosquitoes in McLennan County.
- Remove standing water in your yard
- Mow your grass regularly
- Use an EPA-approved mosquito repellent with DEET
- Wear long sleeves and pants and loose, light-colored clothing when outdoors
