Educator Reports and Data Monthly Bulletins
Updated Educator Production Dashboards
The Educator Production dashboards that are maintained by the Educator Data, Research and Strategy team have now been updated to reflect the numbers of educators who were issued a standard certificate during the 2022-2023 academic year. These data include a person-level dashboard as well as a certificate-level dashboard. We provide both views because teachers may receive multiple certificates when being initially certified, and the different dashboards are useful in addressing different questions.
The person-level dashboard is best suited to answer questions such as:
-
How many teachers were certified through a particular EPP? In the 2022-2023 academic year, there were a total of 20,097 newly certified teachers in the state of Texas.
-
What percentage of the newly certified counselors identify as a specific race/ethnicity? In the 2022-2023 academic year, 17% of newly certified counselors identified as Black/African American.
-
How many principals were certified through an alternative certification route? In the 2022-2023 academic year, 310 principal candidates were certified through an alternative certification route.
The certificate-level dashboard is best suited to answer questions such as
-
How many teachers were certified to teach a particular subject? In the 2022-2023 academic year, 1,974 teachers were certified to teach in science.
-
How many new certificates were awarded via cert by exam? In the 2022-2023 academic year, 18,451 new standard certificates were awarded through the certification by exam route.
-
How many new teachers were certified for a certain grade level? In the 2022-2023 academic year, 6,278 teachers were certified to teach classes for students in grades 7-12.
