Agency Strategic Planning Tour Announced

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) are pleased to announce our biennial strategic planning listening tour. License holders and the public are invited to participate in the agency’s preparation of its 2019-2023 Strategic Plan by offering input at one of our sessions.

Flexibility Added for Posting a Link to IABS and Consumer Protection Notices

Since February 2016, you are required to have a specific link for each of these notices in a readily noticeable location on the homepage of your business website. The Commission has adopted amendments to those rules that give you additional flexibility when posting the link to the Consumer Protection Notice.

From The Executive Director...

As the next Commission meeting on Monday, February 12 rapidly approaches, there are several issues that loom large and we need to emphasize.  First, this is our year for both strategic planning and rule review, so we will be discussing opportunities to remove any identified barriers or red tape that hinders or slows the licensing process without providing clear and commensurate consumer protections.  In other words, we are always looking to reduce regulations to maintain and promote free markets while balancing the legitimate needs and expectations of consumers to receive highly professional and ethical service from the real estate related license holders that they contract with and that we regulate.

Get CE Credit for Attending a Commission Meeting!

Receive a minimum of 2 hours and up to a maximum of 4 hours of CE credit for attending the February 12, 2018 Commission meeting in Austin.
To be eligible for credit, current license holders must: 

  • Attend the meeting in person;
  • Attend the entire meeting (no credit will be awarded for partial attendance);
  • Provide photo identification; and
  • Sign in and out on the class attendance roster for the meeting.
