SDCC invites you to an engaging conversation with three dynamic artists featured in our current exhibition BUILT DIFFERENT: Joshua Gordon, Leo Hendrix, and Maurice Pacius. The conversation will be moderated by Ahava Silkey-Jones.

Join us for our first-ever Community Kickback, an evening centered on genuine connection and community care. This gathering is about building relationships and showing love without expecting anything in return.
This is not a regular food park event—food and drinks will be provided while supplies last.
Children and families are welcome. RSVP is required to attend.

Celebrate the season at our holiday edition of the SDCC Music Lounge Open Mic Night. Enjoy an evening of music, spoken word, poetry, and creative expression shared by community voices. Whether you’re performing or attending to support local talent, this promises to be a warm and engaging night.

6-8PM A free collage-making experience for both beginners and experienced artists. Participants will explore visual storytelling using printed media, textures, and found imagery. Free. Registration required.

2-4PM Pilates & Spice offers weekly mat Pilates classes designed to strengthen the body, nourish the spirit, and celebrate culture through movement and flavor. A welcoming and energetic environment for all levels.

December 20 • 2–4 PM Explore the techniques, influence, and inspiration of African American visual artists. Participants will create original artwork guided by the groundbreaking styles of these artists. Free and open to all.
Come hang out at SDCC for stories and free books with ARCO—fun times and great reads await!
Join us at the South Dallas Cultural Center for Community Story Time and a special book-gifting event! We’ll be reading Santa in the City, a heartwarming tale about a little girl whose belief in Christmas magic is renewed as she discovers that Santa can find her, chimney or not, with the help of her family, community, and the holiday spirit.
