The Latino Cultural Center hosts the Twenty-Second Annual Día de los Muertos Festival

DALLAS - The Latino Cultural Center (LCC) announces the twenty-second Annual Día de los Muertos Festival and will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. All activities are free and open to the public.

During the day-long celebration, visitors can enjoy craft workshops created in partnership with Cascabel Group. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy special presentations by Alegre Ballet Folklorico, El Konkon, Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli (Aztec dancers), Mariachi Itza & Alas de TWU / TWU Ballet Folklorico and music by DJ Soy Capaz & AL G. Visitors will also be able to shop at the artisan vendor market curated by Common Hearts. Local artists and community members will create “altares” or altars in both the galleries honoring loved ones who have passed away. This exhibition will be on display Nov.1 to 14, 2025. This event would not be possible without the support of the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA), Dallas Trinity FC, Nasher Sculpture Center and the Perot Museum of Science and History.

The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a unique blend of pre-Colombian and Christian traditions and rituals. Traditionally celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2, the Day of the Dead originated in Mexico and is now firmly rooted in Mexican-American and Latino cultures. Día de los Muertos is a joyful celebration honoring cherished loved ones who have passed away. Families gather at cemeteries to tend to the graves of their ancestors or build altars at home, placing offerings of flowers, favorite foods or cherished objects of the deceased along with marigolds and calaveritas.
