Dallas Fire-Rescue Honors Fallen Firefighter With Namesake Firefighter Rescue Training Drill

What

The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department is proud to announce the development of the Lt. Todd Krodle Firefighter Rescue Drill, made possible by a donation from the Lt. Todd W. Krodle Foundation.

The rescue exercise and training roof prop was created by the DFR Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) to simulate the circumstances in which Krodle was killed in the line of duty on August 14, 2011.

The Rapid Intervention Team is a highly trained group of firefighters on standby at an emergency to rescue fellow firefighters who become trapped, injured, or incapacitated during an operation. The creation of the fire rescue drill is a tribute to the life and work of Lt. Krodle and provides firefighters with invaluable hands-on experience to prevent similar tragedies. The drill and training prop will be unveiled at the press conference.
