The City of Dallas’ Community Resources Welcoming Hub is a FREE online service for residents to access and find information, organizations, programs and services. The dashboard is divided into food, housing, goods, transit, health, money, care, education, work and legal. Residents can filter by zip code and topic to find the help they need. Love Your Block: Park Row Ave- 9:00 to 11:00am Thursday Aug 21

Park Row is a Historic Neighborhood in South Dallas that has been undergoing revitalization efforts since last year's amazing volunteer turnout where the median on Park Row Avenue was transformed and beautified! Help us to keep this part of Dallas beautiful by participating in one of our Love Your Block summer events! Volunteers will be assisted by Code Compliance staff to help Keep Dallas Beautiful. Supplies will be given to volunteers at the event. These include litter grabbers, trash bags, and vests.​ Click HERE for more information.

Bachman Lake Skate Park Public Art Dedication Ceremony- 11:00am to 12:00pm Friday Aug 22

A new mural by artist Jieun Kim will be on display at the Bachman Lake Skate Park. Revolving around the theme of “home" the piece is perceived through the lens of an immigrant. Drawing inspiration from Kim's cultural roots and the rich landscapes of Korea, the artists' homeland, this mural is informed by the rich history of skateboarding in the Bachman Lake community, as well as the neighborhood as a place where various pre-established immigrant networks uplift each other generation to generation. FIFA World Cup 26 Volunteers-

The FIFA World Cup 26™ is coming to North America, and we’re looking for passionate, energetic volunteers. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, commit to a minimum of 8 shifts, and be available for the duration of the tournament, including the application process and training. Volunteers must have a good command of English – and knowledge of other languages is an added bonus! We want the very best in North Texas to welcome the world to our great region. To help track numbers of volunteers from our specific area, please use code: COD26 on your application. Community Empowerment: Digital Ambassadors-  

Connected Dallas  can help your organization by providing direct support to your community via their Digital Ambassadors assist with affordable internet plans, Texas Benefits Application Assistance, device access, troubleshooting, and multilingual support. Also, by enhancing your events with digital skills and tech support. They provide registration assistance, tech help, and digital skills workshops, covering topics like Digital Skills 101, Online Safety, Excel, Google Docs, and more, ensuring attendees gain valuable knowledge. Services for Seniors-

The Community Council of Greater Dallas and Dallas Area Agency on Aging, & Dallas County are keeping older adults active. They provide meals and transportation services for seniors. See FLYER for more information.

Dallas College Student Care Network- Four Offices, One Purpose

Crimmigration CLE from the Crimmigration Committee of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas Immigration & Nationality Law Section- 9:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday, Sep 10

This online CLE session provides an in-depth examination of the intersection of immigration and criminal law, emphasizing key strategies and challenges. It explores navigating legal complexities with ICE, addressing the changing federal policy landscape, and defending non-citizens who are charged with criminal conduct from Class Cs to felonies. Know Your Rights Information-

Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation (VMYDF) is committed to empowering the Vickery Meadow community with knowledge and resources. We’ve compiled materials from our Know Your Rights workshops into an easily accessible folder, available to the public. The National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) will provide a 40+ hour Overview of Immigration Law Training. This Overview of Immigration Law course will provide an introduction to immigration law for practitioners new to the field. This training is aimed at nonprofit and local government staff and leaders seeking partial Department of Justice (DOJ) accreditation, which allows individuals to represent clients before agencies of the Department of Homeland Security. Tent’s Mentorship Program for Refugees

The Tent Partnership for Refugees, a network of over 400 major companies committed to connecting refugees to work worldwide, runs a professional mentorship program for refugees in the U.S. where refugee mentees are individually paired with a mentor from a major company (e.g. Hilton, Pfizer, PayPal) with a similar professional background. The goal of Tent’s mentorship program is to help mentees better navigate the U.S. job market and advance in their careers. There is no fee to join this mentorship program, and all forcibly displaced migrants in the U.S. are eligible to participate, including asylum seekers, asylees, humanitarian parolees, refugees, TPS holders, and victims of human trafficking. Refugees who speak English or Spanish are eligible to participate.

For organizations interested in referring their refugee clients to Tent’s refugee mentorship programs, please email us at mentorship@tent.org. NGOs who email us will receive email templates, draft social media posts, and flyers (available in English and Spanish) that would make it easy for them to share information about the mentorship programs with their refugee clients. These resources contain a link to a brief registration form that refugees need to complete to sign up, and Tent uses this information to match them with a mentor based on similar professional interests.

For organizations looking to connect their refugee clients to work opportunities, Tent would also be happy to co-host any hiring events with local organizations. We’ve successfully co-hosted dozens of refugee hiring events across the country in partnership with city governments and local NGOs. While local organizations take the lead on planning the event and inviting refugee candidates, we can invite our 200+ Tent U.S. members to participate and lead an information session on best practices for recruiting refugee talent for participating recruiters. Upwardly Global-

Upwardly Global is reaching out with some good news during this challenging time. We're pleased to share that we've recently updated and expanded our eligibility criteria making it possible to serve even more work-authorized newcomers to rebuild and restart their professional careers in the U.S. This new update means that a broader range of immigrants and refugees can now access our free, personalized career coaching and comprehensive job readiness training. 

Here are the key eligibility changes: 

  • We will now serve people who have lived in the U.S. up to 10 years (adjusted from 7 years)

Dallas 311 allows City of Dallas residents and visitors to request City services. Submit and track your service request on the website or by downloading the Dallas 311 mobile app. Create a free login account and view detailed service request updates online or via the mobile app.

Code Compliance

The City of Dallas Code Compliance Department consists of three divisions: Neighborhood Code, Nuisance Abatement, and Consumer Health.  Code Compliance ensures city codes, and ordinances are maintained, so Dallas continues to be a clean and safe city. Code Compliance does this by working with neighborhoods by providing education and building partnerships with non-profits, neighborhood associations, and other City of Dallas departments.

Our innovative solutions ensure our homeless neighbors receive food, shelter, housing, help to overcome barriers, and opportunities for a better life. The Mayor and City Council are​ very interested in you serving as a member of a City of Dallas Board or Commission.
