Dallas Park and Recreation Director is connecting parks and people

Through meaningful conversations, Dallas Park and Recreation Director John D. Jenkins is connecting with residents across Dallas. He recently visited the Willie B. Johnson Recreation and Senior Center, where he was reunited with seniors he knew from his tenure as the center's manager.

What began as a routine check-in quickly turned into a powerful homecoming. Director Jenkins’ return to Hamilton Park community in North Dallas was filled with laughter, shared memories, and heartfelt conversations, reigniting the strong bonds he built over years of dedicated service. His visit was a reminder that true leadership is rooted in community, connections, and an unshakable commitment to the people he continues to inspire.

Director Jenkins has never lost his heart for Hamilton Park and its surrounding neighborhoods. His visit was not only a testament to his leadership, but also a powerful reminder of the lasting bonds he built through his untiring service to the community.
