DallasNow is Live!

Starting today, May 5, 2025, the City of Dallas will begin using DallasNow for Permitting, Zoning, Inspections and most Dallas Planning & Development functions. DallasNow is the city's new land-management system that integrates these functions into one unified platform.
DallasNow is a user-friendly system that will streamline our processes and provide much more transparency for YOU, our customers.

What to expect with DallasNow:

Improved Public Transparency: Applications can be easily to tracked to see where a project is in the process, view staff comments, and the that steps remain.
Receive real-time notifications that include permits, inspection statuses, and itemized fee descriptions.

Streamlined Process: Online application submissions, electronic plan reviews, and automated permit issuance, reducing the need for visits to Dallas Planning & Development offices.

Groundbreaking Ordinance: 1-8 Dwelling Units in Residential Code

On April 23, 2025, the Dallas City Council unanimously approved a groundbreaking ordinance allowing buildings with up to 8 dwelling units and three stories under a modified version of the International Residential Code.
This bold step redefines how we approach small-scale housing development and opens new doors for housing innovation and affordability across our city.

Parking Reform going to Dallas City Council

Dallas is working to update parking regulations. On May 7, Dallas City Council will be briefed, followed by a Public Hearing on May 14, 2025.
