DAL Voted 'Best Airport' 2nd Straight Year
For the second consecutive year, passengers have declared Dallas Love Field (DAL) the best medium hub airport in North America.
The 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport of 15 to 25 Million Passengers in North America was recently announced by the Airports Council International (ACI) World.
The prestigious award, touted as the gold standard for airport performance metrics, is awarded based on the findings of a rigorous yearlong survey evaluating customer service and passenger experience.

DISD Partnership Brings 250 Students to Aviation Conference
Dallas Airport System (DAS) hosted its second annual "Leaps & Bounds" educational and interactive event in collaboration with Dallas Independent School District (DISD) on March 5 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
Some 250 middle and high school students got a front row seat to the world of aviation through the eyes of Captain Barrington Irving, the event’s guest speaker. Irving is a two-time Guinness World Records holder who is the first Black pilot to fly solo around the world and was once the youngest person to do so.
“Leaps and Bounds” signals DAS’ own continued commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in aviation and other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
Airport Honey Becomes Staple at Local Brewery
Honey from the beehive at Dallas Executive Airport is back on the menu at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen, blocks away from Dallas Love Field.
The sweet delicacy made quite a splash at the restaurant’s 10th-anniversary celebration on March 6, featured in its Tienne Honey Saison beer and microgreens salad, specially prepared for the occasion.
“We’ll be adding the honey in place of some of the Belgian candi sugar to dry out the beer and bring in a floral note in the aroma,” said Jacob Sloan, who co-owns the brewery with his wife, Lindsay.
“We’ll be pairing Tienne with a salad that will also incorporate the honey, a microgreens salad with poached pears and dried cherries tossed in herbed ‘local airport honey’ vinaigrette, and finished with shaved asiago cheese,” Sloan added.

DAL is 1st Airport to Produce Energy from Jet Blasts
Leading the way in aviation sustainability, Dallas Love Field is the first airport in the world to install charging stations with power created using jet exhaust during takeoff.
Dallas-based JetWind Power Corporation is the mastermind behind the groundbreaking technology and chose Dallas Love Field as the site to test the project, which is now being touted as a game-changer in the renewable energy market.
The innovation was officially launched during a press conference on February 13. Aviation Director Patrick Carreno spoke during the event, highlighting Dallas Love Field’s role in paving the way for a greener future.
Shuttle Driver Wows Passengers with ‘Golden Voice’
Harold Moore is a familiar face among travelers at Dallas Love Field airport, where he has driven an Enterprise Mobility shuttle bus for nearly 30 years.
However, what makes the 73-year-old stand out the most is his voice.
On any given day, riders on his bus can hear him belt out Frank Sinatra songs with pipes that some say could hold their own against Sinatra himself. For Moore, it’s all about shifting the moods of anxious or weary travelers.
“The words that I sing, the stories that the songs tell; they are soothing, relaxing, melodic, and kind words. They calm people down, put people in a certain mood to get ready to endure whatever kind of day they are going through,” Moore said.
Moore has been featured on CBS11.
