Zora Neale Hurston Festival in Dallas!
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable celebration of culture and creativity! The Oak Cliff Cultural Center invites you to the Zora Neale Hurston Festival Dallas.
This vibrant event honors the legacy of the legendary writer and anthropologist with a day filled with books and marches, art displays, hands-on workshops, captivating storytelling, live music performances, and much more.
As part of the festivities, visitors can also experience the exhibition "Bitter Waters Sweet" by acclaimed artist Letitia Huckaby, on display at the center through February 8, 2025.

 Sustainable Art Residency Program: Call for Artists!
The Community Arts Sustainable Art Residency Program is seeking innovative artists to lead environmentally focused programming in recreation centers and community farms across Dallas.
Aligned with the 2020 Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP), this residency connects artists with local communities to create sustainable art experiences that tackle climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and promote a healthier, more prosperous city.

 Community Concert Spotlight: Aden Brings Soulful Sounds to the Stage
Join us for our community concert this month featuring Aden, an Ethiopian-American singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas, whose soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics bridge cultures and genres, from Afrobeats to Jazz and Neo-Soul.
Drawing on her African heritage and American roots, she has shared the stage with artists like Reba McEntire and Jelly Roll. With an ethereal voice that explores themes of love, identity, and resilience, Aden creates a timeless connection with her audience through both intimate acoustic sets and dynamic full-band performances.

 South Dallas Public Art Dedication Ceremony
The community is invited to join us in celebration of the completion of four newly installed public art pieces along Botham Jean Boulevard. Join us as we honor the creative vision of featured artists Pascale Pryor, Scott Shubin, Laura Walters, and Bernard Williams.

The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture invites you to celebrate the city’s vibrant spirit and creativity at 214 Day: Show Love for Dallas!

This free event features live performances, Dallas-inspired food, and an interactive community art activity. Join in to connect with fellow Dallasites and show your pride for #DallasCulture!
Get Involved: Contribute to a collaborative quilt celebrating Dallas unity by personalizing quilt squares at local cultural centers now through Jan. 31, 2025. The quilt will be unveiled at the event.
