Dallas Arts Month 2024 Press Conference

DALLAS - April marks the 11-year anniversary of Dallas Arts Month, highlighting the diverse, vibrant and growing arts community.  

The Dallas Arts Month Kick-off Press Conference will begin at noon, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Dallas City Hall, First Floor Lobby,1500 Marilla St., Dallas, TX, 75201. Live streaming of the event can be found on YouTube.com/CityOfDallasCityHall 

The kick-off event will feature live performances by Tejas Dance and Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico and performance by Poet Laureate, Joaquin Zihuatanejo. The City of Dallas will also announce the go-live date of Culture Pass Dallas. Councilmembers Omar Narvaez, District 6, Jesse Moreno, District 2, Paul Ridley, District 14 and Jaynie Schultz, District 11 will be providing remarks at the kick-off. 

“The month-long celebration offers a splendid opportunity for locals and visitors to delve into the plethora of captivating experiences within Dallas’ vibrant arts and culture scene,” Narvaez said. “I encourage all to immerse themselves in new artistic expressions and embrace the myriad of opportunities available during Dallas Arts Month.”   

Dallas Arts Month first debuted in 2013, and is designed to increase resident awareness, encourage participation and appreciation of the experiences Dallas artists and organizations create and nurture all throughout the city.  

"Representing the Dallas Arts District, I am proud to support the arts and encourage residents to partake in the many arts events happening across the city," Ridley said.

“It is a collaborative community led effort that makes Dallas Arts Month a success,” said Office of Arts and Culture Director Martine Elyse Phillipe. “From multi-day film festivals and art gallery openings, to live music and dance performances, residents and visitors will have a wide range of events to choose from during Dallas Arts Month.”
