City of Dallas Celebrates Women’s History Month with its 5th Annual Women’s Salute

Dallas – On Wednesday, March 6, 2024 over 100 women attended the Dallas City Council 5th Annual Women’s History Month Salute. The event celebrates and honors women who are making a difference.  

“The annual City Hall Women’s Day celebration was an example of womanhood multiplied... sharing, caring, laughing, learning and becoming stronger women because if it,” said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn King Arnold.  

The event featured Deputy Mayor Pro Tem (Dist. 4) Carolyn King Arnold, District 9 Council Member Paula Blackmon, District 10 Council Member Kathy Stewart, District 11 Council Member Jaynie Schultz, and District 13 Council Member Gay Donnell Willis. 

Serving as Host Committee were Tanya Ragan, Wildcat Management; Diana Cross, RNDI Companies; Tiffany Mahon, Modest Muse Org; Dr. Elba Garcia, Dallas County Commissioner District 4; and Kim Tolbert, Deputy City Manager.  

There was a musical performance by Jess Garland of Swan Strings and DeDe McGuire, radio personality and founder of the DeDe McGuire Foundation was the emcee. Among the attendees were former councilwomen Monica Alonzo, Tiffany Young and Sandy Greyson. Floral arrangements were provided by students of Faith Family Academy and catering provided by A la Carte Catering.
