 The 3,000th Chick-fil-A Opens at The Shops at RedBird
The Red Bird neighborhood celebrated the opening of the 3,000th Chick-fil-A at the Shops at RedBird on November 9, 2023. The event welcomed friends and neighbors to witness the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Also in attendance was Chick-fil-A's CEO Andrew T. Cathy, executive leaders, and the new owner, Dallas native Consuela Jacobs. To honor the 3,000th restaurant, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has pledged a collective $300,000 to both Feeding America and Junior Achievement, each receiving a $150,000 donation.

City Supports Gap Financing for Retail Redevelopment including Sprouts Farmers Market Grocery
 City Council recently approved an economic development incentive to support a retail redevelopment project by Vista Property Company that will include a new Sprouts Farmers Market at the northwest corner of Fort Worth Avenue and Hampton Road. The total project cost is expected to be $21.2 million; the City approved incentives not to exceed $6.3 million. The project involves demolition of 2 existing buildings and the ground-up construction of 3 new buildings.

A Reimagined Parking Lot in Pleasant Grove
On Saturday, November 18, the Better Block Foundation, Inspired Vision Compassion Center, Councilmember Jaime Resendez, and the Office of Economic Development celebrated the ribbon cutting of Pleasant Grove Better Block at Bruton Masters Village Shopping Center with members of the community. Participants enjoyed music, vendors, arts & crafts, and games on the newly painted basketball court. Projects with Better Block aim to bring awareness to the surplus of underutilized parking lots to inform developers of their potential for creating community gathering plazas and the hope to inspire future economic development.
