Dallas Love Field Airport Announces Quality of Life Improvements on Lemmon Avenue

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) is excited to announce an upcoming project that will enhance the quality of life for the neighboring community and visitors. Construction is set to begin on Lemmon Avenue around DAL, bringing a host of improvements designed to make this area safer, more accessible, and aesthetically pleasing.

The project will include a range of streetscape enhancements, such as the installation of sidewalks, bicycle paths, vibrant landscaping, eye-catching gateway features, enhanced lighting, intersection safety improvements, upgraded traffic signals, clear and informative wayfinding signage, and the creation of a charming neighborhood pocket park. These enhancements will improve the area's visual appeal and contribute to a safer and more user-friendly environment for all.

The project's scope encompasses Lemmon Avenue from Collville Avenue to Shorecrest Drive and Shorecrest Drive from Lemmon Avenue to Webb Chapel Extension. These enhancements align with Dallas Love Field Airport's commitment to enhancing the overall experience for travelers and residents, ensuring that the area remains a welcoming and accessible destination.

Patrick Carreno, Director of Aviation at Dallas Love Field, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming project, saying, "We are thrilled to see these improvements coming to Lemmon Avenue. This project underscores our dedication to the community and our ongoing efforts to create a more enjoyable and safer environment for everyone. We appreciate the public's patience during the construction phase, and we are confident that the result will be well worth the wait."

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 9, 2023, and the project is expected to be completed by early 2025. During this time, there may be some temporary traffic disruptions and detours near Lemmon Avenue, Collville Avenue, Shorecrest Drive, and Webb Chapel Extension. The airport and project team are committed to minimizing inconveniences and ensuring the community is informed about potential impacts on traffic flow.

Dallas Love Field Airport encourages residents, travelers, and businesses to stay updated on project progress and traffic advisories through its official website and social media channels. Inquiries or feedback from the public throughout the project will be gratefully received and considered.

As this exciting venture embarks to improve Lemmon Avenue, Dallas Love Field Airport remains dedicated to enhancing the overall experience for all who visit and reside in its vibrant community.
