Dallas – In 2024, the City of Dallas will host the Sociable Cities Academy and Summit that focuses on helping cities like Dallas work proactively with nighttime economy generators.
The summit aims to help cities work collaboratively with restaurants, clubs, bars and other nightlife activities and with their partners to help positively deter disorder, violence, and other impacting factors that can affect nighttime operations.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for City of Dallas teams and local businesses to partner to learn best practices from Sociable Cities’ expertise,” said Assistant City Manager Carl Simpson. “Sociable Cities concepts and ideas will help elevate Dallas nighttime economy to the next level,” said Simpson.
Responsible Hospitality Institute’s Sociable City Summit is the largest gathering of Night Managers, frontline public safety, code enforcement officers, and other industry professionals. Currently, there are 22 cities in North America with a Night Manager and/or Office of Nightlife, and the City of Dallas is joining those ranks with the newly posted position Manager of Nighttime Economy and Responsible Hospitality.
“We commend the City of Dallas for recognizing the value of its nightlife and taking proactive measures to enhance it, while joining over 80 cities around the world with similar positions,” said Good Neighbor Initiative Project Manager at 24HourDallas, Bryan Tony.
The Summit brings together advocates for culture, music, diversity and equity in a way that makes nightlife safe for persons of all ages and speaks to the revenue generation that cities can achieve through effective public-private partnership. “We look forward to working closely with Dallas’ future Nighttime Economy and Responsible Hospitality Manager to further develop a world-class nighttime economy in Dallas and strengthen its reputation as a premier destination for nightlife, entertainment, and cultural experiences” said Tony.
