City of Dallas launches new Dallas Climate Action Website

Dallas - The City of Dallas is leading the region by adding a new level of environmental outreach and public engagement through a website that launched this week entitled, www.dallasclimateaction.com. This website supports the City’s work on the Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP).

The City continues its efforts to consistently and reliably address environmental issues and climate change through the Dallas Office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability (DEQS). The Dallas Climate Action website is the first of its kind in North Texas and will provide information about environmental and climate planning efforts being planned and implemented by the City.

“We’re excited to debut this wonderful tool to share information with the public,” says Sue Alvarez, Assistant Director, Dallas Office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability, “It allows us the opportunity to really educate people about environmental issues such as climate change and the associated work that we are doing in Dallas.”

Website content will include relevant background data, a document library, a schedule of events related to planning, and an opportunity for the online community to engage with DEQS staff.

The site is easy to navigate and accessible on mobile devices. Users will be able to track the progress of initiatives and efforts digitally, in addition to learning about community meetings and in-person opportunities to provide input into this plan.  While an update notification feature is included in the site, community members are encouraged to visit the site regularly in order to be among the first to view the full schedule of work plans and meetings.
