Tonight the City of Dallas is experiencing a malfunction in
sirens throughout the City.
Fire dispatch crews are manually shutting off the sirens and
a complete shutdown could take up to three hours.
“We ask Dallas residents to be patient with us as we figure
out what is causing this malfunction and we request that people not call 911 to
report the sirens.”
The Office of Emergency Management, OEM, is determining what
caused this malfunction. We will report the cause of the malfunction as soon as
that information is available.
There was a surge in calls to the 911 call center and the
longest wait time was two minutes.
